LID #3

Today is month #3 in our wait for Emily. I am pretty sure we are going to do ladybugs in her nursery so I am scouting out the perfect ladybug prints and patterns to use (there are so many to choose from). We have awhile to wait and find what we are looking for. It is nice to think that the first three months have gone by very quickly.

To celebrate I bought 27 Dresses on DVD. I remembered it was coming out today and couldn't wait to get out of school to go get it. I went to buy it so I could enjoy a quiet night at home while Steve is off doing study sessions at BU. I ended up buying two other romantic comedies while I was out, I just couldn't resist :) I also booked our hotel for our summer trip to Vegas, can't wait!

Weekend Wedding

We had a fun time in the hill country this weekend. We headed down to Hunt on Friday afternoon in order to get there in time for the rehearsal dinner. The wedding took place at Camp Stewart. Holly spent the summers at camp and always dreamed of getting married there. It was a wonderful and beautiful setting. The rehearsal dinner got a little wet but the wedding day had perfect weather. We had fun taking pics and seeing lots of friends.
Here is Steve and me being cheesy by the river.
Does this scream engagement pic or what :)

The wedding could not have been prettier! Everything was wonderful!

Steve and Hannah enjoying dancing the night away.

Two happy couples!

The Gochis kids looking super cute all dressed up. The boys were candle lighters and Hannah was a flower girl. They all did a great job!

Who knew?!? Stonehenge in Hunt, TX. A random sight out in the country.

We had a great weekend and enjoyed celebrating! We stayed in Kerrville which is a cute town. I had never been there before and the hill country is beautiful. We are headed back to the area for another wedding in June, I can't wait.

Betty is Back!

After months of waiting and having to find something else to do on Thursday nights, Ugly Betty finally returned tonight. I didn't know if I would get to see it again this season. I am so glad the writers and producers worked everything out. Kinda sad when you look forward to a tv show coming back, right :)

On a yucky note, it is almost 4am and I am wide awake (0kay maybe not wide but awake, that's for sure). My allergies hit and hit hard for some reason. Maybe it's the rain we got last night but whatever it is I can't breathe when I lay down, not good! I just took another pill so hopefully it will kick in and I can get a little more sleep before having to get up for work. So what's there to do at 4 in the morning. Well, Happy Days is on and there are actual music videos playing on VH1. 'Course I don't know any of the songs so that's not too fun. This is when I really wish we had Gospel Music network, oh well. If Steve was up I would be packing for our weekend get-away. We are headed to Hunt, TX for the wedding of a family friend. My niece and nephew are in the wedding and I can't wait to see them all dressed up.
Have a GREAT weekend!

Light Your World

Tonight Steve was honored at a special banquet. A fraternity, Phi Kappa Chi, at Baylor holds a special banquet each spring to honor special teachers who have been "a light" in their lives. It was a wonderful night and I am so PROUD of Steve. The student who invited him was so complementary and it was fun to meet one of his students. Only 54 professors and staff members were invited. Dub Oliver was the guest speaker which was great fun since he is a family friend. He did a wonderful job of honoring the special teachers and staff. The students also wrote a letter telling why they invited their special guest. It was a fabulous night! On a random note... my sister went to the very first Light Your World Banquet when she worked at Baylor.

A great weekend

I originally thought spring wouldn't be too busy, boy I was wrong! I have enjoyed parties and get togethers with so many wonderful people. One party I went to this weekend was for my friend Amber (she's in the middle). She teaches 2nd grade at my school and is an awesome, energetic teacher. I am coordinating her wedding in June and can't wait. She and her mom have been so fun to work with. I get all giddy when we start talking wedding stuff. I know it is going to be a beautiful day. It is great to be at school with her becuase whenever we need to take care of something we are right there together.

I was also able to spend some fun time with my mom and sister. We started off at Pansy Tea which is a luncheon for graduating Tri Delta seniors. All the members looked so cute and young. Oh to be graduating from college again! We then headed to a house warming party for a family friend. She has a great new house and it made me really want to start looking for a new home for us. Guess we need to wait before looking just yet :)

On a sad note for me my great friend Karen is leaving my school. What is a girl to do when her best friend from work is going somewhere else?!? I am so excited for Karen's new opportunities but very sad for me. We eat lunch together everyday and help each other in so many ways. She is going to teach 3rd grade in a different school district. I know she will do a great job.

little things

Spring is here and everything is blooming. At school we have been waiting on eggs to hatch. They hatched yesterday and today. It is so cute to see all the little chicks. I actually saw one come out of his shell. It is a neat experience for the kids at school. We have a teacher who has an incubator and cage. 17 eggs have hatched so far. They will end up at farm and hopefully live a long life :) We also have a baby bunny who has come to visit our porch. We put out some carrots for him to munch on. While I was taking animal pics I decided to include one of the bunny. He is living in the science lab at school right now until his outside home is ready.

Boy do I feel old!

You know you are old when a kid you used to babysit is now getting married! I was blessed to attend the wedding shower of Chris who I used to babysit back when I was in high school. I can't believe he is 24 and getting married. His brother is a junior in college as well, yikes I'm getting old. Chris is all grown up now, that's for sure! I am lucky to have a special relationship with his mom, Sylvia. She was my Acteen leader when I moved to Waco. She became my second mom and really helped me deal with being a teenager (even though she didn't have one herself). She took me on mission trips and taught me so many things. She even let me drive us around Arlington with just my learner's permit! I have so many fun memories of special times together. She even sat with my parents at my wedding :) I am so excited for Chris and Megan and look forward to their wedding in May.

Spring has Sprung

I love spring, well most parts. I love seeing the beautiful Bluebonnets as I drive around town. It's one of those things that when I see I get a huge smile on my face no matter what my mood is. We don't seem to have as many this year but there are a few patches on my drive to and from school. I also like the rain we have gotten, it makes the flowers so pretty. What I don't like about spring is ALLERGIES! In Waco you are very lucky if you don't have allergies, most people have some form of them. I am allergic to lots of things including grass, trees, and cats. Oh well, guess I just have to get used to carrying my box of Kleenex around with me :)
This weekend was lots of fun! I was able to celebrate two special events. The first was a going away party for some friends from church. We will miss the Sprinks very much and are excited about their new opportunities in Missouri. I also got to help with a baby shower for another friend from church. It was fun to shower Laura with special baby blessings.

My awesome sister made the cake for the shower. It is too cute!

I love this chair so much! Laura's theme is jungle and a special friend had the chair made. I am already thinking about chairs for Emily's nursery.
